ShelfLayer is a read-only MCP server for querying public-domain books. This page explains what account, usage, and diagnostic data is handled during the public beta.
ShelfLayer does not sell personal data. The MCP tools are read-only. We use Google sign-in through Clerk to protect the service, and we keep operational logs to secure, debug, and improve the beta.

ShelfLayer uses infrastructure and authentication providers to operate the service. Google is used for sign-in, Clerk handles authentication, and hosting/logging providers process server traffic needed to run the MCP endpoint.
Operational logs are retained only as long as needed for security, debugging, abuse prevention, and product improvement. Beta retention windows may change as the service matures.
You can disconnect ShelfLayer from your MCP host at any time. To ask for account deletion or privacy help, email hello@shelflayer.com from the account address you used to sign in.
